1965 Buick Riviera Inspired BATMOBILE

This is a Batmobile modeled after the 1965 Buick Riviera that my dad rebuilt a few years back.  I loved that car and I have always loved the different versions of the Batmobile, Tim Burtons version being the first car that ever captivated my imagination and changed what a car was to me.  This is the first attempt to draw a car since I was about 12 years old and I am really happy with the way it has turned out.  Let me know what you think and what could make this better.  I plan on eventually having this in an action scene, speeding down a Gotham street with bullets ricocheting off its body armor as Batman ejects out the roof.  Eventually.

Batman: Arkham Knight Game Trailer

The first look at the next generation console game Batman: Arkham City.  This looks absolutely insane and so fun.  The graphics and design is similar to the Nolan Trilogy of movie but even better.  The Batmobile looks like a tank but just as much like a muscle car that is maneuverable and practical and the Batsuit has even more armour but is just as sleek.  The universe that this Batman exist in is not so concerned with taking place in reality and while it is just as dark this looks not to take itself quite so serious.  Can't wait to try this one.

Joker Sketch

Joker all finished up.  I was about to give up on this one last night because I wasn't happy with the way it was turning out but I'm glad I stuck with it and figured out a solution.

Working on the Clown Prince of Crime.

I have drawn in Joker's suit and touched up the face in a few places.  Later I will add some simple background and then begin colour this on Photoshop.

A piece I started the other day but spent last night working on.  This is the first time I have drawn anything from Batman since I was about 12 years old so it was cool to try my hand at it again.  I would like to do more comic art in the future and there is still much left to do with this one.  I will finish sketching out his suit and the background then I will scan them in and colour it up using Photoshop.  More to come soon.

Joe Madureira Sketchbook

Starting as an intern at Marvel comics at age 16, while still in high school.  By the time he was 20 he was the regular artist on Uncanny X-Men, one of Marvels biggest titles during the height of the publishers popularity during the mid 90's.  One of the first American comic artists to combine tradition comic book illustration with Japanese style manga, his work has been in high demand ever since, both in comic books and in video game design.  I love his work but decided to only do a gallery of his pencil sketches because no one sketches with the clarity and bold line work like him. He can draw kinetic action, dynamic group splash-pages, beautiful women, hideous monsters, armour and mechanics, animals, and superheroes.  Since I first saw his work in Battle Chasers he has been one of my favorite comic artists.  If you like his work search out more on google because he does not have a person website or blog.

The Dark Knight Rises Trailer

The last trailer for the Dark Knight Rises.  Batman is going to get his ass handed to him in this movie, the last of Christopher Nolan's trilogy.  Below is a shot that someone recorded while they were filming in New York and it shows the epic scale of this movie...oh nevermind it looks like youtube has been cleaned out today and the Copyright police are flexing their Nazi muscle.  This movie is about inciting a class war so it is fitting that I post this on May 1.  Today strike, party, dance, and if attacked fight the fuck back.

Stanley Lau (Artgerm)

This guys work is really amazing his style is a combination of anime and comic illustration but his colouring and use of colour and light is what makes his work standout.  He is well know for his pinups and girls but he can draw males and monsters just as well.  Whether dynamic action or static poses all his figures come to life.  You can vist is Deviant Art account to see more images.
