Musicless Music Videos

What do you get when you take the music out of a dated 1980s music video by David Bowie and Mick Jagger and add in the appropriate sound effects?  This...

As an added bonus here is a clip of Prodigy's Keith Flint suffering from hay fever.

David Bowie: The Second Coming of Major Tom

I made this artwork for the remaining sketches from my piece earlier this week David Bowie: Ziggy Stardust on Mars.

David Bowie: Ziggy Stardust on Mars

Finished colouring this one up last night after spending a lot of time trying to perfect it.  I did a lot of experimenting with the colour and background and had some difficulty bringing it all together but persistance pays off in the end.  I like the way that this looks like a piece of 1960-70s pulp sci-fi and it suits the subject as well.  I spent a lot of time listening to David Bowie while doing this piece and also watched a few documentaries in the process (I recommend watching the BBC's Five Years).

Beck covering David Bowie's Sound and Vision

This is a trailer for a new series, Hello, Again, in which a current artist covers a past song.  For the first episode Beck covers Sound and Vision from Bowie's classic album Low.  The full video and song will be posted on February 10th.  Below is the original Bowie version, as well as a remix reinterpretation that Beck did last year for a Philip Glass tribute album, which is definitely one of my favorite songs from 2012.
