Musicless Music Videos
What do you get when you take the music out of a dated 1980s music video by David Bowie and Mick Jagger and add in the appropriate sound effects? This...
As an added bonus here is a clip of Prodigy's Keith Flint suffering from hay fever.

ARCA & Jesse Kanda video for Knot
The video has wax-like embryonic musclemen synchronized dancing to ARCA's track Knot from his &&&&& mixtape. This is the first scene in a full film titled TRAUMA, a collaboration between ARCA and director Jesse Kanda. The pair will be take on tour this year and show exclusively in selected international galleries. It will be interesting to see the dark and creepy video that they have come up with to match the sinister music of ARCA's &&&&&

Future Islands perform Seasons on Letterman
Future Islands made their TV debut earlier this week on Letterman and although I have been a fan of these guys since I first heard Beach Foam in 2008, I have never had the chance to see them live. I have to say that I really want to see them after they destroyed my expectations on Letterman. The singer's voice as incredible as it is on the album is even more unhinged live and his delivery is as theatrical as a voice like this should be. His dance moves are reminiscent of Carlton on Fresh Prince of Bel Air but less comical as he intensely stalks and sways across the stage, even though they should still make you smile. Up to this point these guys have released a lot of excellent music with little recognition, so maybe with the upcoming release of their album Singles and this TV appearance they will get the recognition they deserve and tour enough that I can finally see them. I have also included some of my favorite songs off older albums.

Under the Skin Trailers

Jonathan Glazers Under the Skin stars Scarlett Johansson as an alien in Scotland who picks up hitchhikers. The trailers are beautifully cut giving away nothing of the story but loaded with incredibly haunting visuals.
Jonathan Glazer is responsible for creating my favorite music video Rabbit in Your Headlights by Uncle featuring Radiohead. He is also the man behind a few of Radioheads' other famous music videos which I have posted links to below.

Captain Murphy's The Killing joke video
A fan made music video for the Captain Murphy track The Killing Joke, that Captain Murphy liked so much he made it the official video. Below is a 35 minute video released last year on VHS for the Duality Mixtape that had the internet guessing Captain Murphy's real identity. It was later revealed at LA's Low End Theory that the true identity of the Captain was producer Flying Lotus rap alter ego. A few weeks later on New Years Day I was lucky enough to be seeing FlyLo when he closed out his set with a few Captain Murphy tracks. You can download the whole mixtape at the bottom of http://www.captainmurphy.xxx/

A short documentary and interviews with artists that contributed to the music video for Johnny Cash's last official single, Aint No Grave, as well as the completed version of the video afterwards. Directed by Chris Milk, I don't know how I didn't know about this video until now.

NEW DEFTONES: Leathers
Today the Deftones released a song from their 7th album Koi No Yokan called Leathers. This will not serve as the first single from the album but merely as a preview track. On October 9th the first single Tempest will be released and the album will be released November 13th. Leathers has every element of a great Deftones song and what still sets them apart from every other metal band. It is super aggressive and still has fragile, chillingly beautiful moments. There is no other band like this and they are still way ahead of every other band, showing no signs of becoming boring, old or used up after such a long career of so many highlights. While recording this album they also tracked a series of covers which are rumored to be three Elvis Presley songs and an Earth, Wind and Fire song which they will probably release on a bonus disk. They are also one of the best cover bands, releasing many covers that sound like they wrote them and fit perfectly into their cataloge (some highlights of which I have included underneath the tracklist for Koi No Yokan). Enjoy.

The Walkmen: Heaven
One of the hardest working indie rock bands is back with their new album, Heaven, on June 5. The preview seems to indicate that this album will focus more on instrumentation, mood, and atmosphere, then the quick 3 minute pop/rock songs of Lisbon. The best thing about being a fan of this band is that every two years they release a fantastic album and after seeing this preview I am anticipating this release so much more.
Pitchfork interviewed the band about the new album and has some live previews of a few new tracks.

Santigold: Disperate Youth Music Video
The second track from her new album Master of My Made Believe and it could be that her new album sounds just like a best of, just like the first album. I can't wait to listen to this all summer long.
